Richard Channer

Richard Channer is an artist and visual storyteller who has been part of Figment Art for 2 years. Her work focuses on historical research and uses objects to tell stories through her art.

Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and exhibitions, including the Newhaven Museum, Jubilee Library, Community Base and Phoenix Gallery. Additionally, her work has been part of the Outside In online exhibition. I talked with her to learn more about her work and her favourite exhibition she has attended.

How did you get into art?

Forever. Art feels like my first language and my most comfortable form of expression. It is how I communicate and share my experiences with others.

I’ve recently looked back at my earliest creative work, including drawings, illustrations and stories. It’s clear from the start I saw and expressed myself differently.
