Get Involved

There are lots of ways to get involved with Figment Arts. You can volunteer at our projects and events, support our work through donations or partnerships, or help us spread the word. Together we can make sure creativity is open to everyone.

Volunteer

We rely on enthusiastic volunteers to support various community-led projects like Port Stories, Figment Arts Studio and our Creative Clubs.

Whether it’s helping with workshops, events, or artist support in our studio, volunteering with us is a great way to make a real impact – and gain valuable experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Help set up and run creative sessions
  • Welcome and assist participants from all backgrounds
  • Support events – guiding visitors and handling logistics
  • Record activities, take photos, or document stories (especially for audio-based projects)
  • Help promote events on social media or within the community

What you’ll gain:

  • Hands-on experience in community arts
  • New skills in facilitation, event planning, and outreach
  • Connections with artists, local partners, and community members
  • Reimbursement for any out-of-pocket costs.

No prior experience needed – just enthusiasm and a desire to get involved. We especially welcome applicants with experience of disability or neurodivergence.

Freelance Creatives

We regularly hire talented freelance artists, facilitators and creatives to help deliver community arts projects like Port Stories, our Studio programme and Creative Clubs.

Opportunities include:

  • Running workshops and creative sessions for diverse audiences
  • Encouraging self-expression through art
  • Helping shape project content and outcomes
  • Working with audio and mixed media, especially for Port Stories
  • Supporting exhibitions and community events

Ideal applicants are:

  • Experienced in sound work, storytelling, photography, visual arts, or facilitation
  • Able to connect and adapt to diverse groups, including autistic or learning-disabled people
  • Passionate about socially engaged art

Details:

  • Locations: Shoreham Harbour & Eastbrook Manor, West Sussex
  • Rates start at: £200/day or £25/hour
  • Offers flexible, project-based work
