Our supported art studio runs every Friday

Supportive

It offers a supportive environment where individuals can explore their creativity without judgment or pressure.

We provide the space, some materials, and guidance needed to help artists at any stage of their journey, whether they’re trying something new or working on a more developed project.

“My name is Debbie, I am a 67 year old autistic woman. I have been looking years and decades for an art group like Figment Arts.”

Artist Led

The studio is a place where everyone can express themselves freely, experiment with different art forms, and develop their skills at their own pace.

Our team offers tailored support to ensure each artist feels comfortable and empowered, whether that means one-on-one guidance or creating a space where they can work independently.

“Using public spaces can be overwhelming and distracting, increasing the risks of epilepsy seizures and subsequent fatigue. I always leave the sessions feeling positive and re-energised to continue progressing my work.”

Community

It’s not just about making art – it’s about building confidence, finding a space where you belong and helping artists connect with a community that values their creativity.

The studio is a place where everyone, can find their voice and grow as an artist.

“The purest joy I get is seeing others work when they want to share it, or ask if I have any opinions on it. It's also helped inform how I work with the techniques, materials and resources provided in each session. We are all here for each other and I wouldn't have it any other way.”

Workshops

We often take workshops out into the community.

These sessions allow us to reach a broader audience, they allow our artists to develop their workshop skills and provide creative opportunities for the public.

“Figment Arts has given me the chance to help facilitate workshops for other community groups which gave me the confidence to apply for a job working with adults and young people with learning disabilities and now I’m working!”
