Lost and Found Museum Project – Kathy’s workshops

Artist Kathy Williams is collaborating with Katie Gander, as part of her Lost and Found Museum project.
The Lost and Found Museum is a community-led arts project exploring the stories and creative potential of discarded objects.
Based in Shoreham and developed with artists and local participants, the project transforms donated scrap materials into artworks, exhibitions, and workshops. Rather than presenting fixed histories, it invites audiences to imagine and create their own meanings—turning everyday objects into starting points for storytelling and connection.
Through free, inclusive workshops and a temporary museum exhibition, the project brings people together to share skills, uncover hidden narratives, and reimagine what a museum can be: a space shaped by community creativity, lived experience, and collective interpretation.

explore, collect, and create using found objects in the Circular Space. Choose items by colour, size, smell—or anything that catches your eye—and imagine their stories.
Experiment with light to discover the shadows they cast. Connect pieces with thread or glue to build your own unique shadow creation—flat, wall-based, or freestanding, in any size.
A relaxed, supported session with space to share ideas or work independently. We may even create a group shadow piece together!
Take your shadow maker home to keep, rearrange, and enjoy.

Knitty Konnectors workshop by Kathy Williams – Tuesday 12th May, 10.30 til 1pm, Circular Space, Shoreham-By-Sea
A relaxed, creative workshop where discarded knitting and fabric are given new life. Together, we’ll explore the stories behind these materials and create new connections through making.
Threading into someone else’s stitches can feel like holding a letter from the past—a simple but powerful link across time.
Knit, sew, weave, and chat in a welcoming space. Add your own ideas, repair and reshape materials, and be part of a shared creative process.
No experience needed!
Try knitting, crochet, weaving, or simple techniques using string, fabric, cardboard, or even your fingers.
The outcome is up to the group—make something to take home, contribute to a shared piece, or both.
